newborn fabric mandalas
My latest body of work has recently been finished and documented. Here are some of the pieces. The process of creating them has grown from past projects, trial and error, and mostly the spontaneity of experimenting with fabric, color, and layering. All works will be available for sale pending any exhibition acceptance. Thanks for all of your support and inspiration.
love and peace,
Laura

Allende House
Drag his bones from one place to another
Frequently coming across,
Without suffering or joy,
A network of mysterious contacts
Along side the stone statues
The only illumination,
Paralyzed with confusion and surprise
With their backs to the window,
Assorted other things
Splendor, visible from the street
As soon as they were awakened
Her face transformed,
The law would not intervene.
A strange shiver,
Suffocation of nostalgia
Soft as moistened bread
Enabled him to buy-
Conjure up at will.
Shattering it to bits,
Surrounded by silence.
Someone like your-self,
Boundary between
Confused rhetorical exchange.
If they were in the middle
One ascended via a spiral.
They slept in since,
In this realm
Last activity was a wasted one.
People of his condition
When she returned;
Like two small animals

The Unbearable Brightness of Weaving
The water slide of human experience is constantly sloshing me around, up, and down. Somewhere in the corkscrew of motion, the space in between clammy-handed anxiety and a Bachelorette-watching daze I find myself weaving, sewing, and snipping. The repetitive processes of weaving and stitching creates a net to rest in, but the moment I settle in and learn a process, i'm unraveling the net to create a new one.
These weavings are from a process that began two years ago and foreshadow some of the sloshes and turns inspiring my current work.

Mystical flavors, Bright reflections
Sudden jolts, mystical flavors, and constant motion have driven the tides of my vagabond life since returning from a pilgrimage through Spain one year ago. Attempts to sew and snip the bright colors i've been magnetized to have come in rushes, jumps, and skips. Heres to the fruits of an ultra fluxtastic year!
